The vision for this master bath was to create a serene, personal oasis that balances timeless elegance with a distinct nautical charm. Through a close collaboration with Bargas Construction, we set out to design a space that feels like a sophisticated coastal retreat. Drawing inspiration from the natural beauty of the Connecticut coastline, the goal was to capture the calm and restorative feeling of being near the water. The design foundation is a classic maritime palette, where deep, rich navy blue is contrasted with crisp whites and accented by the subtle gleam of polished metal, evoking the feeling of a luxurious seaside escape right here in Fairfield County. The deep navy was chosen for its grounding, sophisticated presence, reminiscent of the deep sea, while the crisp white provides a bright, airy contrast that maximizes the feeling of space and light. Polished nickel was selected over chrome or brass to offer a touch of timeless warmth, echoing the lustrous details on a classic sailing vessel.
At the heart of this transformation is the custom navy blue double vanity, which serves as the room's stunning focal point. Crafted with precision in our workshop, the vanity features classic inset shaker doors and drawers that speak to a timeless quality. This style of construction, where the doors sit perfectly flush within the frame, requires meticulous attention to detail and expert joinery. The deep navy finish was meticulously applied in multiple layers, with fine sanding between each coat to create a perfectly smooth, durable surface built to withstand the humidity of a bathroom environment. This rich color is beautifully complemented by polished nickel hardware and a clean white quartz countertop that provides a durable and luminous surface. Functionality was just as critical as form; the interior was designed with custom dividers and full-extension, soft-close drawers to maximize organization and provide an effortless user experience for two people. This central piece is more than just storage; it is a statement of bespoke craftsmanship that anchors the entire design.
Throughout the project, effective communication between Sharpline Cabinetry and Bargas Construction was key to navigating the complexities of the renovation.
